asked the Minister of Defence, in view of the increasing acceptance of the advantages of Polaris missiles submarines as against missiles for more normal launching, whether he will make provision for one or more of these submarines in the 1960–61 defence budget.

No, but the various means of maintaining an effective British contribution to the deterrent will be kept under study.
