HC Deb 09 December 1959 vol 615 c48W
87. Sir A. V. Harvey

asked the Minister of Defence how many and what type of helicopters have been delivered to the Army, Navy and Air Forces during the past three years; and how many are on order at the present time.

Mr. Watkinson

The following types of helicopters have been delivered during the past three years: to the Royal Navy, Whirlwinds; to the Army, Skeeters; to the R.A.F., Sycamores and Whirlwinds. The following types are on order: Whirlwind and Wessex for the Royal Navy; Bristol 192 for the R.A.F.; and Skeeter for the Army. It would be contrary to practice to disclose the numbers of aircraft delivered to, or on order for the Armed Forces.
