§ 73. Sir H. Lucas-Toothasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will instruct the committee of inquiry reviewing company law to include consideration of the effect of take-over bids on the general public as distinct from the shareholders in the particular company concerned, and, in particular, to review the aesthetic and social consequences which may be entailed by such bids.
§ Mr. ErrollI am sure that the Committee will consider all aspects of takeover bids of concern to the general public which are appropriate to company law but I would not include aesthetic considerations among them.
