HC Deb 03 December 1959 vol 614 cc148-9W
72. Mr. Oram

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he will seek to revive the proposals for an organisation for trade co-operation as discussed at the Ninth Session of the contracting parties of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade.

Mr. Erroll

The United Kingdom and a number of other countries have accepted the Agreement establishing the Organisation for Trade Co-operation; but, before it can come into effect, it has to be accepted by the United States, for which Congressional approval has not yet been given.
