HC Deb 21 April 1959 vol 604 c33W
84. Mr. Woodburn

asked the Secretary of Slate for Scotland whether he is aware of the danger to traffic at the road junction in Strachur Village and whether he will deal urgently with this hazard in view of the approaching tourist season.

Mr. Maclay

This junction is between two classified roads (A.815 and A.886) for which Argyll County Council are the responsible highway authority. I am in consultation with the County Council about a scheme for the reconstruction of over four miles of A.815 between Strachur and Lock Eck, including the junction with A.886, under the Crofter Counties Programme.

I hope that work on this scheme may start this year.
