HC Deb 16 April 1959 vol 603 c93W
1. Mr. F. Noel-Baker

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what steps he is taking to control the sale to the public of tranquillisers containing the drug glutethimide, in view of recent complaints about its dangers from the medical profession.

Miss Hornsby-Smith

asked The question of controlling this drug as a poison is being considered by a sub-committee of the Poisons Board. As the sub-committee is considering a wide range of drugs, it is not expected that its report will be available for consideration by the Board for some months.
