§ 115. Mr. A. Evansasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food the estimated number of adult males, working in agriculture, with weekly earnings of £10 or less.
§ Mr. GodberThe latest available figures relate to the twelve months ending 31st March, 1958. It is estimated that in that period the average total weekly earnings of approximately 240,000 hired whole-time regular adult male agricultural workers in Great Britain were less than £10 per week. Since then there have been increases in statutory agricultural minimum wages which will have the effect of reducing this number.
