§ 76. Mr. Swinglerasked the Minister of Labour if he will now take action to secure the establishment of national machinery for negotiation about wages, salaries, and conditions of work between employers and employees in the banks.
§ Mr. Iain MacleodI assume that the hon. Member is referring to the position in England and Wales. So far as that is concerned, I am not aware of any change in the circumstances described in my reply to the right hon. Member for Blyth (Mr. Robens) on 6th June, 1957, of which I am sending the hon. Member a copy. That being so, there is at present no scope for further action on my part.
