§ 64. Mr. Doddsasked the Minister of Health if he is aware of the concern in Kent at the worsening situation regarding the provision of residential accommodation for the care of the aged and that, whilst the Kent County Council has voted money for the provision of new homes, it has not been possible to obtain from his Department loan sanction for the provision of some new buildings within the financial programme; and, in view of the seriousness of the problem and the public interest in the matter, if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. R. ThompsonMy right hon. and learned Friend is aware that in Kent, as elsewhere, there is an unsatisfied demand for accommodation and that the County Council is preparing plans for new homes. When the Council is ready with definite proposals, he will be very willing to consider them in the light of all the circumstances then prevailing.
