§ Mr. Iain MacleodOn 13th October, 1958, there were 5.650 registered unemployed, including 4,314 men and 1,124 women at the Hull and Hessle Employment Exchanges compared with 3,226 including 2,247 men and 979 women in October, 1951. The increase has been caused by a general slackening of activity in the city, particularly in the port. during104W the past year. My officers are doing all they can by submitting unemployed persons to vacancies notified to them.
