HC Deb 10 December 1958 vol 597 c68W
100. Mr. Lewis

asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation whether, in view of the evidence recently adduced before the Bury St. Edmunds Magistrates' Court, details of which have been sent to him by the hon. Member for West Ham, North, he will give an assurance that his Department's road test examiners do not use trick questions and orders when testing applicants for a driving licence; and whether he will make a statement in answer to the letters received by him from the same hon. Member.

Mr. Nugent: I

am glad to give the assurance for which the hon. Member asks that candidates taking the driving test need have no cause to fear trick questions or orders; both the questions asked and the instructions given by driving examiners are entirely straightforward.
