HC Deb 09 December 1958 vol 597 c35W
94. Mr. Foot

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he has considered the information conveyed to him by Mr. Tom Mboya regarding the evidence given at the trial of Jomo Kenyatta and others by Rawson Macharia; whether he has also considered a statement, particulars of which have been supplied to him, made by Rawson Macharia at Nairobi on 22nd November, 1958, to the hon. and learned Member for Ipswich, which was substantially to the same effect; and whether he will cause an inquiry to be held into the allegations contained in these statements.

95. Mr. Sorensen

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what comments he has now received from the Governor of Kenya in respect of alleged perjured evidence given at the trial of Jomo Kenyatta.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

I have not yet had the Governor's comments on Mr. Rawson Macaria's statement. When I have received and considered these, I will circulate a further reply in the OFFICIAL REPORT.
