§ Mr. K. ThompsonAt 30th September, 3,390 applications were outstanding and in addition 3,660 were under enquiry or in course of being met. The figures a year ago were 5,953 and 3,971 respectively. Of the applications at present outstanding, 917 were made more than two years ago. In the twelve months nearly 17,000 telephones were installed.
