HC Deb 04 February 1957 vol 564 c8W
67. Mr. Teeling

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what econonmy cuts were required of the British Ambassador in France; and what proportion of these have actually taken place in the British Embassy and Consulate in Paris.

Mr. Ian Harvey

In response to a request for staff economies in the whole field of diplomatic and consular representation in France, Her Majesty's Ambassador at Paris offered to make certain reorganisations resulting in a total saving of nine United Kingdom-based officers and 27 locally engaged unestablished staff. Of these, three United Kingdom-based and seven locally engaged officers were employed in the Embassy in Paris.
