HC Deb 04 December 1957 vol 579 c45W
73. Mr. Ross

asked the Postmaster-General why he refused to meet a delegation from the Burns Federation; and if, in view of wide public interest, he will reconsider that decision.

Mr. Marples

As I could not meet the Federation's wishes no useful purpose would have been served by receiving a delegation. I am sorry I cannot issue a special stamp to mark the bicentenary of Robert Burns's birth.
