HC Deb 03 December 1957 vol 579 c27W
78. Mr. Hector Hughes

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland why, in his reply of 23rd August to the letter he received from Messrs. Brander and Cruickshank, Advocates of Aberdeen, acting for the Scottish Inshore White Fish Producers Association Ltd., giving reasons why the Fisheries Acts relating to Scotland should be consolidated and improved, he neither agreed to promote the consolidation of those Acts nor gave reasons against such consolidation; and if he will now take steps to promote such consolidation.

Mr. Maclay

I would refer the hon. and learned Member to the answer I gave to my hon. Friend the Member for Aberdeen, South (Lady Tweedsmuir) on 18th November.
