HC Deb 02 August 1957 vol 574 cc303-4W
Mr. Vane

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will make an esti mate of the loss of dollar earnings by this country which may result from the American decision to reduce oil imports.

Mr. Birch

I regret that no estimate can yet be made since the cuts apply to United States importing firms and it is not known how these cuts will be distributed between the various companies supplying oil to them from overseas.
