§ Sir A. Bossomasked the Secretary to the Treasury. now that the finances of the nationalised industries are to be under the control of the Treasury, if he will take steps to alter the present practice so that Members of Parliament will now be enabled to ask Questions pertaining to these industries, particularly in relation to their finances.
§ Mr. H. BrookeThe proposals by which certain nationalised industries will obtain capital from Exchequer advances instead of by stock issues do not imply any alteration in the existing division of responsibility for the affairs of those industries, as between the Treasury, the Ministers concerned and the industries themselves. The new arrangements are, in fact, those already applicable to the National Coal Board.
