HC Deb 11 April 1956 vol 551 c20W
Mr. Shurmer

asked the Secretary of State for War if, in view of the fact that the body of Police-Sergeant Gerald Rooney, who was killed by terrorists in Cyprus on 21st March, was flown to Belfast at the expense of Her Majesty's Government in Great Britain, he will consider applying the same concession to the body of any Service man killed in that area.

Mr. Head

I am advised by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for the Colonies that this was at the expense of the Cyprus Government and not Her Majesty's Government.
