HC Deb 21 November 1955 vol 546 c74W
Mr. Wade

asked the Minister of Pensions and National Insurance when steps will be taken to extend the period during which family allowances are payable for children who remain at school after the age of 16 years.

Mr. Peake

I would refer the hon. Member to the statements on this subject which I made in the debate on the Address on 14th June and which my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister made in the debate on the Motion put down by the right hon. Gentleman the Member for Lewisham, South (Mr. H. Morrison) on 31st October last. I cannot yet give the date on which the necessary legislation will be introduced.
