asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many members of the police forces in the United Kingdom have been convicted of a criminal offence in the last 12 months; and how many of them were members of the Criminal Investigation Department.

During the twelve months ended 30th September, 1955, twenty-six members of police forces in England and Wales were convicted of criminal offences. Information as to the number of these who were members of the Criminal Investigation Department is not available.
