HC Deb 03 November 1955 vol 545 c134W
Sir F. Medlicott

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will now introduce legislation amending the Shops Act, 1950, so as to implement the recommendations of the Gowers Committee.

Major Lloyd-George

I assume that my hon. Friend has in mind the Gowers Committee's report on the closing hours of shops. I hope that it will be possible to introduce a Bill on this subject before very long.
