asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what renewed applications have been received from African co-operatives since 1950 for leave to grow and market Virginian flue-cured tobacco; whether such applications will 118W continue to be opposed by the Government of Northern Rhodesia; and on what grounds.

No such application has been received since 1950. The Northern Rhodesia Government is not opposed to such applications and any they receive will be considered on their merits.
