asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation to give a general direction to the British Transport Commission that all railway bridges, used by both passengers and trains, should be thoroughly inspected following the bad winter, to ensure their safety.

No. The engineers of the British Transport Commission, in the exercise of their responsibility for the safety of traffic at all times, maintain a special watch on all bridges and structures which may possibly have been affected by abnormal weather conditions.
