HC Deb 09 March 1955 vol 538 c59W
114. Mrs. Braddock

asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation to carry out an urgent investigation of the bad conditions on H.M.T. "Empire Clyde" for Service men's families of the 1st Battalion King's Regiment, who are being brought back to this country, and are due to arrive in Liverpool on 1st March, details of which have been sent to him by the hon. Member for the Exchange Division of Liverpool.

Mr. Boyd-Carpenter

I have investigated the case of which the hon. Lady was good enough to send me particulars. Berthing on this voyage was in accordance with existing standards. I am, however, specially reviewing these standards.
