Mr. Smithersasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether his attention has been drawn to a document entitled "The Present State of Economic Integration in Western Europe" which was produced by the Secretariat of the Council of Europe, and to the resolution passed by the Consultative Assembly at its sitting in July, 1955, with regard to the Economic Integration of Europe, and whether he will consult Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer and the President of the Board of Trade with a view to further development of the policy of Her Majesty's Government in the light of the aforementioned document and resolution.
§ Mr. TurtonYes. Both the document and the recommendation of the Consultative Assembly have been brought to my right hon. Friend's attention. The recommendation will be considered by the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.
