Mr. Peter Freemanasked the Minister of Defence what negotiations are in progress with the South African Government with a view to establishing a defence organisation for Africa; what representations he has received from other African Governments; and which other African Governments will be invited to participate on equal terms when negotiations concerning the defence organisation for Africa take place.
§ Mr. Selwyn LloydThe terms of our understandings with the South African Government on all the subjects discussed with Mr. Erasmus are fully set out in the recent White Paper and I have nothing to add at present to what was said in that document and in the statement made by my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister on 4th July.
