§ Mr. J. StuartA White Paper has been laid before Parliament, and copies are now available in the Vote Office, containing proposals for amending the law relating to mental illness and mental deficiency in Scotland. This is being done so as to facilitate examination and discussion of the many important questions that arise. These proposals will be reviewed, after consultations with all interested bodies and organisations, before Parliament is invited to give statutory effect to a revised code of law.
