§ 91. Mr. Hector Hughesasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will confer with the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation and the Chairman of the Scottish Tourist Board for the purpose 38W of designing a scheme for the equalisation of railway freight charges into and from Scotland to the south of Great Britain, and for eliminating the hardships caused by the present anomalies in freight charges.
§ Mr. J. StuartUnder the Transport Acts, 1947 and 1953, the British Transport Commission's railway freight charges must be governed by a charges scheme prepared by the Commission and settled by the Transport Tribunal. The Tribunal has already sat in public for 17 days to consider a draft scheme.
