Major Hicks Beachasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether he is aware of the local feeling in Cheltenham concerning the proposals for the sandpit at Arle Road and Alstone Lane, and that many people consider they have not had the opportunity of adequately expressing their views on the matter; and whether, in view of this, he will authorise a public inquiry concerning the proposals.
§ Mr. DeedesThe proposals were discussed at the inquiry into the development plan, and subsequently with a deputation from the Cheltenham Borough Council. My right hon. Friend has reviewed all the information available and he sees no need for another inquiry.
