Butlerasked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation whether he will approve for grant purposes, as a local activity within the terms of Circular No. 690, dated 14th May, 1953, the production and publication of a road safety textbook, covering all the aspects of road safety, by the council of the metropolitan borough of Hackney.
§ Mr. Boyd-CarpenterNo. I have in mind the possibility of preparing a book on this subject, and in these circumstances, much, as I appreciate the initiative of the Metropolitan Borough of Hackney, I do not think it would be appropriate to apply public funds to a project of the sort suggested.
