HC Deb 24 November 1954 vol 533 cc153-4W
Sir A. Bossom

asked the Minister of Agriculture what consideration he has given to the desirability of making a public announcement when he declares any tuberculosis eradication area; and what steps he is taking to ensure facilities for the sale of attested cattle in public markets.

Mr. Amory

It is the normal practice to give about two years' public notice of any proposal to declare a tuberculosis eradication area and to continue to give extensive publicity to the matter until the eradication area, and finally the attested area, has been declared. As regards the second part of the Question, I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply I gave him on 18th November.
