HC Deb 11 March 1954 vol 524 c165W
14. Mr. Harrison

asked the Minister of Health why his Department insist that where elastic stockings or anklets are sup plied the type provided must be Lastonet Type, in view of the fact that Lastonet is the trade name of a widely advertised product of a single firm, and that this insistence discriminates against other firms producing similar products which could produce an article comparable in quality and price.

Miss Hornsby-Smith

The hon. Member is misinformed. These articles may be of three kinds of material, one-way stretch, lastex yarn and elastic net and no particular make is specified.
