HC Deb 11 March 1954 vol 524 c165W
15. Mr. Parker

asked the Minister of Health whether he will take steps to have arrangements made between the relevant authorities when the mother of a mentally defective child has to go into hospital for an operation for the mother to be informed in good time of what is to happen to her child.

Miss Hornsby-Smith

Circular 5/52, of which I will send the hon. Member a copy, deals with the action that may be taken in these circumstances. The precise arrangements in individual cases are matters for local decision but my right hon. Friend is inquiring into the case about which the hon. Member has written to him and he will let him know the result.
