HC Deb 21 January 1954 vol 522 c177W
73. Colonel Stoddart-Scott

asked the Minister of Agriculture if he is aware of the floods which occur annually in the region of Patley Bridge, and of the loss to farmers and others by reason of such floods; and if he will increase his grant towards the erection of defence works against flooding.

Sir T. Dugdale

If my hon. and gallant Friend will send me particulars of this flooding, I should be happy to look into it. The watercourses in this area are not, however, the responsibility of the Yorkshire Ouse River Board and, so far as I can judge, I have no power to pay grant in respect of works on them.
