HC Deb 11 February 1954 vol 523 c161W
104. Mr. Pearson

asked the Minister of Health the total number of available beds at the Graig Hospital, Pontypridd; and whether the buildings are now used exclusively for hospital purposes, or what are the obstacles in the way of their being so used.

Mr. Iain Macleod

Four hundred and seventy-nine, of which 309 are available for hospital purposes. Under the National Assistance Act, 1948, the remaining beds have to be available to the county council for non-hospital residents.
