§ Mr. Selwyn LloydNo. As soon as this matter was brought to my attention, I sent through the French Ambassador, an expression of my deep regret to M. Cassin, which I later repeated. My right hon. and learned Friend the Home Secretary wrote personally to M. Cassin in the same sense. I received yesterday a letter fromthe French Ambassador stating that in the circumstances his Government regarded the incident as closed.
