§ Mr. Selwyn LloydThe protests to which my hon. Friend refers concern the incidents which took place last month. The Egyptian Foreign Minister replied that he took these representations with the utmost seriousness, and that the incidents would be carefully investigated. Meanwhile, he protested in turn about an incident in which an Egyptian lorry, containing members of the Egyptian Air Force, failed to stop when challenged by one of our anti-cable cutting patrols. The patrol opened fire and two Egyptians were wounded and have since died.
