92. Mr. Hayman

asked the Minister of Labour how many persons of each sex over 50 years of age were registered as unemployed at the Falmouth, Camborne and Redruth employment exchanges, re spectively, at the latest convenient date.

At 7th December, 1953, the latest date for which figures are available, the numbers were 50 men and nine women at Falmouth, 70 men and 13 women at Camborne and 123 men and 16 women at Redruth. The figures relate to persons who were registered as wholly unemployed.

93. Mr. Hayman

asked the Minister of Labour how many persons of each sex were registered as unemployed at the Falmouth, Camborne and Redruth employment exchanges, respectively, at the latest convenient date and at the comparable dates in 1951, 1952 and 1953.

asked the Minister of Labour how many in the engineering industry have been registering in recent weeks at the Camborne and Redruth employment exchanges, respectively, because of short-time working.

The numbers vary slightly from week to week. At the beginning of last week the numbers were about 230 at Camborne and 40 at Redruth.
