HC Deb 20 December 1954 vol 535 cc217-8W
Mr. Dodds

asked the Minister of Fuel and Power in view of the importance of adequate supplies of smokeless fuel being available to minimise the dangers associated with foggy weather, if he will make a statement giving details of the present position and future prospects.

Mr. Geoffrey Lloyd

Ample supplies of coke are available in most areas, including those specially liable to fog. Supplies of other solid smokeless fuels, though not fully adequate to meet demand, are not less plentiful than in recent years. Future prospects for solid smokeless fuel supplies were considered by the Air Pollution Committee and, at present, I have nothing to add to what they said in their Report.
