106. Mr. Awbery

asked the Minister of Health what steps are being taken to encourage the practice of mass-radiography; how many local authorities are operating this system; how many cases have been X-rayed and what percentage of them have been found to be suffering from abnormalities of the chest requiring treatment.

Up to the end of 1953 the 68 units had made 13,396,538 examinations, in about 5 per cent. of which some abnormality, not necessarily requiring treatment, was revealed.
