Bossomasked the President of the Board of Trade if he is aware of the anxiety among English growers of apples about the imports from North America recently announced, particularly during the month of December, when our own apples are on the market, wince these imported apples all come to one place and all about the same time and ruin the market in that area; and what action he proposes to remedy this situation.
§ Mr. P. ThorneycroftAs I told my hon. Friend on 18th November last, I do not expect that the relatively small quantities of North American apples which will be imported in December will affect adversely the market for home-grown apples.
