103. Mr. C. I. Orr-Ewingasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he will make a statement on the supervision of the Korean armistice terms and the manner in which they are being observed by the parties to them.
§ Mr. TurtonI would refer my hon. Friend to the reply given by my right hon. Friend, the former Minister of State, on 3rd May. The Communist members of the Neutral Nations Supervisory Commission in Korea have recently made efforts to appear more co-operative. But the Swedish delegate to the United Nations during the recent Korean debate made it clear that there are still serious shortcomings in the work of supervision, due to the attitude adopted by the Communist members of the Neutral Nations Supervisory Commission. The United Nations Command continues to co-operate wholeheartedly.
