HC Deb 29 October 1953 vol 518 cc396-7W
Mr. Neave

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air whether he is aware of the nuisance and annoyance caused to the residents of the borough of Wallingford by jet aircraft flying low over the town; and whether he will consider the removal of these aircraft to an airfield in a less-populated part of the country.

Mr. Ward

My noble Friend much regrets any disturbance to the inhabitants of the borough of Wallingford caused by jet aircraft taking off from and landing at Benson, but, unfortunately, it is not practicable, in present circumstances, to limit the use of this excellent airfield to piston-engined aircraft.
