§ 25. Sir W. Wakefieldasked the Minister of Agriculture why the amount to be spent on artificial insemination is being increased; and why this service cannot be self-supporting.
§ Mr. NugentThe increase in expenditure in connection with the two artificial insemination centres maintained by my Department, is being incurred for the purchase of additional bulls, and the provision of pens to accommodate them, in order to meet the growing demand for artificial insemination. These centres are unlikely to become self-supporting because their primary purpose is to conduct research into problems connected with artificial insemination.
