§ 77. Mr. Hurdasked the Minister of Agriculture if he will appoint a committee to advise him on the future development of the sugar-beet industry; and, particularly, on the scope for the economical expansion of beet growing in the southern counties of England, with the provision of a factory there.
§ Sir T. DugdaleMy right hon. and gallant Friend the Minister of Food and I have arranged for a review of the need for an additional sugar-beet factory in the southern counties. In the first place the problem is to be studied by officials from the Departments concerned, and the views of representatives of the growers and others interested will be invited.
