HC Deb 20 May 1953 vol 515 cc133-4W
52. Major Anstruther-Gray

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs how many members of the Diplomatic Corps are to be provided with accommodation to watch the ceremony of Trooping the Colour: and where this accommodation is to be.

Mr. Selwyn Lloyd

Seats on the parade ground to watch the ceremony have been made available by the Major-General Commanding the Household Brigade for the use of the heads of foreign diplomatic missions in London and their wives, who have been invited to attend as the guests of my right hon. Friend the Foreign Secretary. Invitations have been issued to 115 persons, but all the replies have not yet been received.

My right hon. Friend the Minister of Works is making available for purchase by other members of the Diplomatic Corps seats in the stands erected for the Coronation in the Queen Victoria Memorial Gardens, from which a view of the processions to and from the ceremony may be obtained.
