§ Lieut.-Colonel Bromley - Davenportasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what representations he has recently received from parents and teachers deploring the continued publication of American-style comics; and what evidence he has collected to show that the reading of these publications helps to cause juvenile delinquency.
§ Sir D. Maxwell FyfeDuring the last five years 89 representations in all have34W been received in relation to American-style comics—63 of these were received during 1952. The majority came from associations connected with parents or teachers. The factors leading to juvenile delinquency are many and varied but I am not prepared to assess the relative importance to those various causes.
