79. Mr. R. Robinson

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what communication he has received from the Government of the Bahamas about the abandonment of the Colonial Development Corporation agricultural project in Andros; what has been the loss incurred; and to what other use it is proposed to put this land.

Mr. Lyttelton

The Governor has reported disappointment in the Bahamas at the closing down of this project. It is not yet possible to say what loss has been incurred. I understand that the Corporation are now considering the future use of the land.
