§ 95. Mr. Hamiltonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland in view of the substantial decrease in the number of children taking school meals since the introduction of the increased charges. if he will reconsider these increases.
§ Mr. J. StuartNo. I have made it clear to education authorities that, where payment of the full charge would involve financial hardship, some remission may be granted, and I hope that, as when the charges were increased in 1950 and 1951, the fall in the number of children taking meals will be only temporary.
